Visiting Africa.

Africa is home to one-third of the world’s languages and one of the most fascinating places on the planet to volunteer your time.

When you volunteer you will be serving an important role in helping the poorest of the poor. We have a variety of volunteer projects in fields such as teaching English, medical missions, and water purification projects. While your primary role is to volunteer, you will have plenty of free time to travel and learn about this fascinating continent and its people.

Most of our trips are to Liberia. Trips can be arranged to visit Sierra Leone and Ghana. Please know that it is also easy to visit European cities because many flights to Africa stop in France, Belgium, Italy and other countries.

Liberia has 16 indigenous ethnic groups and several foreign minorities. Indigenous groups account for 95% of the population. The recognized ethnic groups include: the Gio (or Dan), Mano, Bassa, Kpelle, Grebo, Vai, Gola, Kru, Krahn, Mandingo (or Mandinka), Fante, Dei (or Dewoin), Bella, Mende, Loma, and the Americo-Liberians or Congo people.

You may be wondering how you can help. The good news is everyone can help. The gift of your time is greatly needed. Helping just one orphaned child feel loved can be priceless.

When you visit you can help deliver:

+ important skills (e.g., help train teachers)

+ food and medical services to save lives.

+ academic scholarships to enable children to go to school.

+ life-skills to prepare children for adult responsibilities.

+ emotional support services to assist traumatized children.

+ water purification training.
