Sianneh Gray is 11 years old and she is an orphan. Her father died at the time when her mother was still pregnant with her. Her father was involved in a motor accident along the Monrovia to Bong County Highway. He was rushed to a clinic but did not survive.
Sianneh’s mother, Martha Togba, became sick during the Ebola epidemic in 2014 and she was taken to the Ebola Transit Center (ETU) where she died.
Martha sold bath soap, washing soap, tooth paste, and brushes. Providing for Sianneh since the death of her husband was difficult. When Sianneh’s mother died she was brought to Monrovia by her grandmother.
Sianneh is cared for by her aunt who is grateful to the Teach Peace Foundation for a 2019/2020 school year scholarship. You can learn more about Sianneh in the Teach Peace book, A Long Way to Good Health.
