Kindergarten teacher Meghan Auner shares her experience working with the Children of Compassion organization in San Francisco, California. Meghan observed “it was a wonderful experience for myself and my students. They really enjoyed learning about the kids in Liberia and Sierra Leone.”
In this video Catherine Rowe summarizes her experience implementing the Children of Compassion program. Mrs. Rowe received the Teacher of Compassion award for leading her students to deliver life-memorable acts of kindness. Her efforts are directly responsible for the Junipero Serra School raising funds to help provide tuition assistance for their students and simultaneously give 50 children in Africa the gift of going to school.
Sianneh Flomo is paying forward the kindness that she has received. She is living testimony that orphaned children can grow up to be adults of integrity and compassion. Sianneh was born in 1997 in Bong County (this is in central Liberia). Sianneh explains that in 2003 she was struggling to survive in an Internally Displaced Camp. She was given the opportunity to be part of the Liberia Mission program where she lived for 14 years. Sianneh currently goes to school at the Booker Washington Institute in Kakata, Liberia.
Ashley Stefani is a Third Grade teacher at the Sacred Heart School in Salinas, California. On February 9, 2018, she and her students participated in a Children of Compassion water carry event that resulted in helping 100 children in Africa go to school.
